Honeymoon Cruise

If the idea of having your family with you on your honeymoon as a result of a destination wedding is not appealing, consider a honeymoon cruise. You can still enjoy a wedding at a far away location, but instead of spending your honeymoon on the hotel’s premises, you can spend the wedding trip on a romantic cruise, offering you more privacy as a couple. You can even be wed on the cruise ship!

Remember, when you are cruising, meals are included in the cost of the cruise. You will have added costs for many activities while cruising, so prepare for that in your honeymoon planning and budgeting. While on a honeymoon cruise, you will have the luxury of seeing more of the world than you would with traditional honeymoon packages, which limit you to one location. A Bahamas or Hawaiian cruise makes an excellent honeymoon trip!

If a cruise is an appealing honeymoon destination for the two of you, ask for cruise honeymoon packages when you board your ship. These packages include little perks for the new couple, such as a honeymoon cocktail party, flowers in the cabin, a special visit from the ship’s captain, or special gifts in the cabin each night. Also, request a table for two if you are traveling on a ship with assigned seating. This gives you the privacy at meals that you need as a honeymooning couple.

Budgeting Honeymoon

The first step to choosing between the different honeymoon packages available for you is choosing a budget. While you may think that all romantic travel is going to be expensive, even those on the tightest budget can find a honeymoon location to fit their needs. The importance of a budget lies in the fact that knowing the financial limitations of your trip allows you to make wise decisions as far as destination and activities on your honeymoon. For example, the honeymooning couple who wants an island oasis honeymoon may choose an island closer to home, rather than a far off destination, in order to keep the trip within their budget.

Budgeting should be done as a couple. If either of you is left out of the honeymoon planning, especially in regards to budgeting, you may feel resentment at the choices made. You need to set a limit on your romantic vacation spending, and then attempt to stick to that limit as much as possible.

Setting the limit on the lower end of your acceptable budget is helpful, because romantic vacations usually end up costing more than anticipated. By setting a lower budget, you free yourselves up to spend money on the extras while you are traveling. After all, what new husband is going to say no to his wife when she wants that special treasure to commemorate their wedding trip?

Choosing Honeymoon

Many couples choose to book their honeymoon by using honeymoon packages. Honeymoon packages are trips that include most of the items that the couple needs in order to have a pleasant, relaxing trip. Most honeymoon packages include romantic accommodations and entertainment. Many include airfare and some meals, as well.

Honeymoon planning can be stressful, when both of you have a different idea of what is the perfect honeymoon destination and set of activities. The groom may be dreaming of a mountain retreat, where he can fish and enjoy relaxing by the fire with his new bride. The bride, on the other hand, may be dreaming of a luxurious beach resort, with spa facilities and tropical breezes. Couples need to communicate in order to find a honeymoon package that will meet both their expectations. Neither of you should be disappointed with the destination of choice, since finding a honeymoon package to please both of you is certainly possible.

Honeymoon packages come in a wide variety of shapes, sizes, and prices. From luxurious romantic retreats in five-star island resorts to romantic cabins in the woods of Colorado, there is a honeymoon getaway destination for every couple. You may enjoy the convenience of an all-inclusive resort. These resorts include meals and entertainment on the premises, so young couples can enjoy each other’s company without concern for transportation needs. If you are the more adventurous pair, you may enjoy a romantic vacation backpacking across Europe. Or, perhaps the traditional luxury of a honeymoon cruise is right for you.
