Budgeting Honeymoon

The first step to choosing between the different honeymoon packages available for you is choosing a budget. While you may think that all romantic travel is going to be expensive, even those on the tightest budget can find a honeymoon location to fit their needs. The importance of a budget lies in the fact that knowing the financial limitations of your trip allows you to make wise decisions as far as destination and activities on your honeymoon. For example, the honeymooning couple who wants an island oasis honeymoon may choose an island closer to home, rather than a far off destination, in order to keep the trip within their budget.

Budgeting should be done as a couple. If either of you is left out of the honeymoon planning, especially in regards to budgeting, you may feel resentment at the choices made. You need to set a limit on your romantic vacation spending, and then attempt to stick to that limit as much as possible.

Setting the limit on the lower end of your acceptable budget is helpful, because romantic vacations usually end up costing more than anticipated. By setting a lower budget, you free yourselves up to spend money on the extras while you are traveling. After all, what new husband is going to say no to his wife when she wants that special treasure to commemorate their wedding trip?
